Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who underwent cardiac magnetic resonance imaging at Heidelberg University Hospital between 2005 and 2007 are eligible for inclusion. Availability of relevant imaging datasets and baseline clinical data at the time of examination is required. In addition, availability of follow-up data must be ensured. In addition, healthy participants from the Heidelberg site of the Healthy Hearts Consortium are included as a control group.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients are excluded in case of incomplete datasets, particularly when essential imaging or clinical information is missing. Furthermore, cases without available follow-up data and examinations with insufficient image quality precluding reliable analysis are excluded.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary endpoint is all-cause mortality. Outcome assessment is performed via official registry data (residents’ registration office) at the end of the study.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary endpoints include the occurrence of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), defined as myocardial infarction, stroke, or cardiovascular death. In addition, time to revascularization (percutaneous coronary intervention or coronary artery bypass grafting) and cardiovascular-related hospitalization are assessed.
