Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| The primary objective is to describe the expectations of patients over 75 years of age with regard to a non-urgent coronary angiography. The expectations will be reflected by the dimensions of the Treatment-Expectation-Questionaire (TEX-Q). EXCELLENT-Coro is a completely descriptive study. Therefore, all dimensions of Treatment-Expectation-Questionaire (TEX-Q) and the questions regarding future cardiac events will be used for characterization of the expectations of the patient cohort. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Hypotheses regrading secondary objectives: - Older patients are more likely to expect relief in everyday life and a higher quality of life than younger patients. Younger patients, on the other hand, are more likely to expect a “cure”. - Previous experiences (for example, a coronary angiography already experienced) are reflected in the expectations. - Age and frailty have a decisive influence on patients' expectations. - The different ways in which patient participation is practiced in the centres is also reflected in the differences in patient expectations between the centres. | — |
