Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age = 18 years Healthy volunteers without relevant internal medical conditions Normal to moderately increased body weight (body mass index 18.5–29.9 kg/m²) Ability and willingness to provide written informed consent Statutory or private health insurance

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Previous abdominal surgery with potential impact on hepatosplanchnic hemodynamics (except appendectomy and surgical procedures in the genital or urogenital region) Acute or chronic diseases, particularly affecting the cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal tract, or musculoskeletal system Use of prescription or over-the-counter medication within the preceding 14 days, especially ß-blockers, antihypertensive or vasodilatory agents Acute illness at the time of examination Age < 18 years

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Doppler ultrasound–derived reference values of hepatic perfusion, in particular the Doppler Perfusion Index (DPI), based on volumetric blood flow measurements of the common hepatic artery, proper hepatic artery, and portal vein in healthy volunteers under resting conditions.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Measurement of serum concentrations of glucagon-like peptide-2 (GLP-2) at rest, after physical exercise, and in the postprandial state, and analysis of the association between GLP-2 levels and Doppler ultrasound–derived hemodynamic parameters of hepatic perfusion.
