Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: A) Prisoners and released prisoners who have been diagnosed with an incurable, progressive, life-limiting illness while in prison (in open or closed detention) B) Internal caregivers: employees of a prison in Lower Saxony who have already been involved in caring for seriously ill and dying prisoners C) External caregivers: employees of palliative care services who have already been involved in the care of seriously ill and dying prisoners in Lower Saxony
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Cognitive impairments (e.g., dementia), insufficient knowledge of German Discontinuation criterion: significant emotional stress during the interview
