Group 1: Multiphase elastography is performed as an (additional) examination in ultrasound or MRI after recording standardised diagnostic markers. The examination shall be repeated at annual interval

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Written consent prior to study-specific activities. 2. The individual is capable of giving consent and able to understand the nature and implications of the study. 3. Age over 18 years. 4. Confirmed hypertension/aortic dilatation based on current clinical recommendations or imaging without the pre-existing conditions listed under the exclusion criteria (patient group) or 5. Exclusion of arterial hypertension or aortic ectasia (control group)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. persons under the age of 18 2. in the case of MRI: implants that are not approved for MRI 3. unclear medical history, reduced insight. 4. seriously ill patients 5. pregnancy

Primary

MeasureTime frame
shear wave speed of the aortic wall is altered in pathology, trend of aortic shear wave speed at yearly intervals, Ultrasound or MR elastography examination

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
change in aortic stiffness between systole and diastole gender-specific differences
