| The aim of the study is to determine intercoder reliability (Krippendorff´s Alpha) and validity (construct, content and external validity) of the newly designed Systematic Multidimensional Organizational Assessment (SyMOA) instrument. The study follows an exploratory qualitative multi-case research design aiming to recruit at least three small-to-medium sized organizations. The SyMOA instrument is conceptually based on the Operationalized Psychodynamic Diagnostics III, a clinically established psychodynamic diagnostic system, and transfers its structural principles to organizational contexts. The aim is to systematically record organizational dynamics (e.g., dysfunctional relationship patterns, chronic conflict constellations, rigid defense mechanisms, limited self-regulation abilities). Such organizational patterns are related to health-related outcomes at the employee level, in particular mental strain and stress, work-related exhaustion, conflict stress, absenteeism, fluctuation as an indirect stress indicator, and subjective experiences of security and commitment in the work context. The study can therefore be classified in the field of work-related health research and primary prevention of psychological stress in an organizational setting, even though no individual health-related data is collected. It can contribute to the early identification of organizational risk constellations that can have a medium- and long-term impact on the psychological well-being and health of employees. | — |
