| Identification of Porphyromonas gingivalis in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Samples are collected as part of a screening of patients with rheumatoid arthritis and a control group by taking a microbiological swab from the dental sulcus. In the same procedure, the Periodontal Screening Index is determined with a WHO probe and recorded in writing. After collection, the microbiological tests are kept cooled at 4°C for up to 1 hour and then stored at -20°C. Next, qualitative PCR is performed. Samples testing positive for P. gingivalis are further analyzed by qPCR. The data are compiled in encrypted form and subjected to statistical analysis. | — |

| Secondary endpoints of the study are the determination of semiquantitative differences of P. gingivalis and their correlation with the PSI in patients with and without rheumatoid arthritis. | — |
