Interventions

Group 1: Diagnosis of a distal radius fracture with indication for conservative treatment. All patients > 50 years of age are included in the study, both genders are considered.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diagnosis of a distal radius fracture with indication for conservative treatment. All patients > 50 years of age are included in the study, both genders are considered.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Contraindications for performing an MRI.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Muscle fat and muscle atrophy are to be assessed in MRI scans as primary radiological endpoints. The somatotropic, gonadotropic, and corticotropic axes are to be evaluated as primary endocrinological endpoints.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Sarcopenia, osteoporosis, and obesity are to be quantified as secondary clinical endpoints.
