Conditions

The Doppler perfusion index (DPI) quantifies the ratio of arterial to total hepatic blood flow and reflects a key aspect of hepatic hemodynamic balance. Alterations of this balance are characteristic of various liver diseases. Glukagon-like peptide-2 (GLP-2) is a key messenger substance in gastrointestinal tract. Yet physiological reference values in healthy individuals, especially in different physiological conditions, are lacking.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - healthy participants - ability to train on bicycle ergometer - no current medication - no abdominal surgery in the past, except appendectomy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - current medication - significant chronic disease, especially cardiovascular diseases - abdominal surgery in the past, except appendectomy

MeasureTime frame
Endpoint is the measurement of (doppler perfusion Index)DPI of liver arteries and portal vein as well as levels of GLP-2 in three diffferent physiological conditions - a physiological basic work. The parameters were measured on day of participation by sonography (3x) and venous blood collection (3x = 30ml). Then freezing the blood samples (- 80°C) and later the anaylisis of GLP-2 in a specialized laboratory. Data ist collected in context of Sonography, and the level of GLP-2 is analyzed in a laboratory.
