Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Forms of SelfCriticizing/Attacking and Self-Reassuring Scale (FSCRS:. >20 on the ‘Inadequate Self’- scale (range 0–36)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants who score >0 on item 9 of the BDI-II (suicidal ideation), are currently under psychological treatment or taking prescribed medication within the last 3 months will be excluded, as well as limited or no 3D perception, diagnosed with epilepsy or a tendency toward epileptic seizures, problems with binocular vision, pregnancy, heart disease or any other physical ilness.

The Primary Outcome is the Forms of Self-Criticizing/Attacking and Self-Reassuring Scale (FSCRS; Gilbert et al, 2004). This online self-report outcome measure will be taken at baseline, post-test (directly after the intervention) and at 4-week follow-up. (Gilbert, P., Clarke, M., Hempel, S., Miles, J. N. ? Schema Mode Inventory (SMI; Young et al., 2007). Screener for schema modes (the dysfunctional parent modes and the child modes) ? Beck Depression Inventory (BDI; Beck, 1979). Screener for Depressive Symptoms. ? Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale (RSES; Rosenberg et al., 1989). Screener for self-esteem ? Gatineau Presence Questionnaire (GPQ; Laforest M, Bouchard S, Crétu AM, Mesly O. (2016). Screener to assess presence and realism in virtual reality. ? Simulation Sickness Questionnair (SSQ; Kennedy et al., 1993). Screener to assess cyber-sickness in VR. These online self-report outcome measures will be taken at baseline, post-test (directly after the intervention) and at 4-week follow-up, except for the SSQ which is only administered at baseline and post-test and the GPQ which is only administered at post-test).
