Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Outpatient initial consultation in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery • Ability to provide informed consent • Written informed consent to participate in the study and to the audio recording of the physician–patient consultation • Sufficient command of the German language to participate in the consultation and complete the questionnaires

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Missing or withdrawn informed consent for study participation or audio recording • Impaired capacity to provide informed consent • Acute emergency situations preventing proper study conduct • Insufficient German language skills to adequately participate in the consultation and questionnaires

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Difference in the quality of physician–patient interaction between the intervention and control groups, measured by the CARE score (Consultation and Relational Empathy Measure) from the patient’s perspective.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
• Quality of medical documentation assessed using standardized scores (QNOTE, PDQI-9) • Time required for medical documentation • Physician acceptance and usability of the AI system (SUS, TAM) • Patient acceptance of the consultation • Occurrence and types of content errors (“hallucinations”) in AI-generated documentation • Concordance between the original consultation content and the generated documentation
