Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Professionals for group leader training: - Psychological or comparable education - Work experience in the field of grief counseling or oncology - Willingness to lead at least one parent group over 10 sessions - Willingness to document the study Parents for the parent group: - Loss of co-parent following a cancer disease - Death of the co-parent occurred between 4 and 30 months ago (at the start of the group) - At least one minor child (< 18 years) lives in the family - Sufficient knowledge of German
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Parents for parent group: - Indications of a severe mental disorder (child or parent) requiring treatment; assessment via self-report and screening instrument (SKID) - Expression of suicidal thoughts or plans in a one-on-one conversation before participating in the parent group

| The mental well being of the parents (Patient Health Questionnaire, PHQ 9; Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7, GAD-7), well being of the children (proxy version, report of the parents, Stengths and Difficulties Questionnaire, SDQ), family communication, and the parents' grief (Prolonged Grief Disorder, PG-13-Revised) Using questionnaires at three measurement time points: T0 (baseline, before the parent group starts) T1 (after completion of the parent group) and T2 (6 months after the completion of the parent group) For in-depth pilot evaluation, qualitative interviews will be conducted with a subsample of participating parents after completing the parent group. | — |
