Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - participants aged 16 years and older: Ability to understand the study protocol and provide fully informed consent, as well as the ability to use self-rating scales. - participants aged 14-15 years: additional informed consent by the legal guardians - assignment of study participants to the URB+/URB- groups: Exposure to early-life urbanicity based on the participants’ place(s) of residence from birth to 14 years of age. To do so, we use population categories from the epidemiologic literature, weighed by the number of years spent in each category. The final proxy scores for URB are between 14 and 42, whereby participants with values between 14-21 are assigned to the URB- group and those with values between 22-42 to the URB+ group. - assignment of study participants to the ACE+ /ACE- groups: Presence or absence of ACE based on severity ratings in the Maltreatment Classification System (e.g., ACE+ : MCS severity cut-off scores for physical neglect bigger than or equal 2 and/or physical abuse bigger than or equal 1 and/or emotional neglect/abuse bigger than or equal 2) - Willingness to use the provided devices of ambulant assessment (e.g. smartphone, sensors) - Sufficient understanding of the German language
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Lifetime history of DSM-5 bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or schizophrenia spectrum disorder or substance dependence other than nicotine dependence. Severe alcohol and cannabis use disorder will be excluded. 2) History of severe head trauma or other severe central nervous system disorder (e.g., Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis) 3) For the ACE-/URB+ and ACE-/URB- groups: Exposure to any form of significant ACE. 4) Pregnancy or nursing infants 5) Standard MRI exclusion criteria as set forth by the internal user policy 6) Current use of medications or drugs known to interact with the CNS within at least four half-lives post last intake
