Conditions

Prevention of age-related health risks in men aged 45–70 who are physically inactive, in particular to promote healthy behaviour, motor skills, quality of life and well-being, and to reduce the risk of numerous diseases (e.g. cardiovascular disease, obesity).

Interventions

Group 1: The primary objective of the project is to examine the feasibility and acceptance of a prevention programme specifically designed for men in a health resort setting and its transferability to

Age
45 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Men aged between 45 and 70. The age limits are necessary because the individual components of the intervention are designed for this age group and to ensure that the physical exertion and strain involved in the course content are comparable. • Physical inactivity according to WHO recommendations for adults, defined as < 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week or < 75 minutes of intense activity per week (self-reported according to Robert Koch Institute, 2017). • Presentation of a medical certificate of fitness for sport as part of an initial medical examination.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Failure to meet the specified inclusion criteria.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The measurement points are: 1. Pre-test: before the start of the compact week 2. Post-test: immediately after completion of the compact week 3. Follow-up: online survey 8 weeks after the intervention The primary endpoints are feasibility parameters: • Recruitment rate: h ähh h/ h ä ×100% • Participation rate: h ähh h/ h Men×100% • Retention rate: h h h / h Th ×100% • Acceptance and satisfaction among participants • Practicality and feasibility of the intervention ? For both endpoints, qualitative survey using guided interviews with individual participants (focus on experience, perception, suggestions for improvement) • Adverse effects/safety (occurrence of adverse events such as injuries; documented by study staff) • Suitability of measurement instruments (response and dropout rates for questionnaires completed by participants) • Recording willingness to pay (‘market price’ via ‘pay what you can’ concept)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The measurement points are: 1. Pre-test: before the start of the compact week 2. Post-test: immediately after completion of the compact week 3. Follow-up: online survey 8 weeks after the intervention Secondary endpoints include clinically relevant health and behavioural indicators for patients: • Physical activity behaviour (based on GEDA questions; Robert Koch Institute, 2017) --> Physical activity behaviour is only measured between the pre-test and online follow-up in order to record changes in activity levels from the baseline level before the intervention to the time after the intervention in the participants' everyday lives at their place of residence. • Subjective well-being (WHO-5; World Health Organisation, 2024) • Health-related quality of life (EQ-5D; Moock, 2008)
