Interventions

Group 1: The registry aims to include as many patients as possible (=3 years) presenting with traumatic injuries to anterior teeth at the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Periodontology, Unive
there are no study-specific visits or additional examinations, and participation does not influence treatment. Baseline routine-care data are recorded (e.g., demographics, medical history, accident ch
and, when indicated, radiographic findings including apical pathology, root fracture, resorption and endodontic treatment). All routine data are pseudonymised and transferred to the registry database
participation is intended to cover the entire treatment-related course including any regular follow-up care.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary outcome is the proportion of injured anterior teeth with an unfavourable long-term course after traumatic dental injury under guideline-based care (e.g., tooth loss/extraction, need for subsequent endodontic treatment, apical pathology, root resorption or root fracture; clinically, e.g., discoloration, tenderness/sensitivity, growth disturbance). Assessment is performed at the initial presentation and at all follow-up visits that occur as part of routine care throughout the entire treatment course. It is based on routinely documented clinical findings; radiographs are considered only when clinically indicated. Data are pseudonymised and documented in a registry database (REDCap/ZKS Cologne).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcomes include the distribution of traumatic dental injuries by age and sex, accident characteristics and trauma classification, and by injured teeth, as well as care pathways including time to first presentation, subsequent treatment needs, and adherence to follow-up appointments. These parameters are captured at baseline (primarily distribution, accident and diagnostic data) and continuously during routine follow-up visits. Data are derived from routine documentation from the initial visit and the clinical course, including recorded treatment measures (e.g., repositioning, splinting, replantation, restorative measures, extraction) and subsequent care; transfer to the registry database is pseudonymised.
