Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients diagnosed with idiopathic hypersomnia in a sleep laboratory (exclusion criteria must not apply) 2) Healthy control group (exclusion criteria must not apply here either)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Treatment for depression (with medication or psychotherapy) in the last twelve months • Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus • Use of glucocorticoid medication in the last month • Moderate or severe obstructive sleep apnea syndrome

Investigation of differences in the diurnal cortisol profile between patients with idiopathic hypersomnia and healthy control subjects as an indication of possible dysfunction of the HPA axis.
