Group 1: Children and adolescents with chronic pain and their legal guardians: For this project, medical data collected during diagnostic and treatment procedures at the Multidisciplinary Pain Center,

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Clinical sample: • Children and adolescents with chronic pain and their legal guardians • Legal guardians must be of legal age • Completion of an interdisciplinary pain assessment of the child/adolescent at the Multidisciplinary Pain Center, Campus City Center, Department for Anesthesiology, LMU University Hospital • Proficiency in the German language • Intellectual ability to answer a questionnaire • Written consent of the child/adolescent and both legal guardians Comparison sample: • Children and adolescents and their legal guardians • Legal guardians must be of legal age • Children must be between 11 and 17 years of age • Children/adolescents must not suffer from chronic pain (persistent or recurring pain for at least three months) • No serious illness in the child/adolescent that severely impairs their life • Proficiency in the German language • Intellectual ability to answer a questionnaire

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Clinical sample and comparison sample: • Malignant disease of the child/adolescent • Life-limiting disease of the child/adolescent

Due to the exploratory nature of the study, no primary outcome is specified. Aims of the study presented here are the following: (1) To investigate the characteristics of children and adolescents with chronic pain who present for an interdisciplinary pain assessment at the Multidisciplinary Pain Center and Outpatient Clinic, Campus City Center, Department of Anaesthesiology, LMU Hospital, in comparison to children and adolescents without chronic pain (matched according to sociodemographic characteristics). (2) In order to develop a specific patient profile of children and adolescents with chronic pain at the Multidisciplinary Pain Center and Outpatient Clinic, Campus City Center, Department of Anaesthesiology, LMU Hospital, it will be investigated whether there are associations between the individual characteristics of children and adolescents with chronic pain, and whether patient clusters can be formed based on these characteristics. (3) Furthermore, the study aims to answer whether the symptoms of children and adolescents with chronic pain improve immediately after, as well as three months, six months, one year, and two years after an IMPT, which is carried out at the Multidisciplinary Pain Center and Outpatient Clinic, Campus City Center, Department of Anaesthesiology, LMU Hospital.	—
