Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| The aim of the study is to investigate how the influence of expectation on pain perception decreases with increasing difference between pain and expectation. This will be measured with pain ratings on a visual analogue scale (VAS) and analysed using behavioural computational models. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| The secondary aim is to investigate the neural underpinnings of this gradual integration which will be measured in the MR with BOLD (Blood-oxygenation-level–dependent) signal. | — |
