Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Data triangulation will be used to include patients from different clinical departments and with varying demographic and medical backgrounds (e.g., age, disease, phase of treatment) in the study. Only patients who are able to give their consent and use XR headsets safely can participate in the study. Sufficient knowledge of German is essential for answering the questionnaires and accompanying materials in order to avoid misunderstandings. Non-German speakers are therefore not eligible to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: People with certain neurological conditions are not eligible to participate, such as: • photosensitive epilepsy • dementia • delirium or transient syndrome • severe mental illness such as schizophrenia • severe susceptibility to nausea (motion sickness) • balance disorders In accordance with the safety instructions provided in the user manual for standard XR headsets, individuals who wear or have implanted the following medical devices are excluded from participating in the study: • Pacemakers • Implantable defibrillators • Hearing aids

Optimizing well-being by reducing negative affectivity (e.g., anxiety, stress, pain, boredom, fatigue) and strengthening positive affectivity (e.g., relaxation, joy, social connectedness, self-efficacy) using extended reality (XR) technology

MeasureTime frame
Evaluation of a range of XR technologies and applications in terms of patient satisfaction and user acceptance, usability, user experience, clinical applicability (e.g., hygiene, safety, integration into clinical processes) with regard to different patient groups and medical situations
