Conditions

This study does not investigate any diseases. It is conducted in healthy, resistance-trained adults and exclusively examines performance- and fatigue-related physiological responses.

Interventions

Group 1: During the 60-minute resistance training session, participants consume a beverage consisting of 500 mL of water containing 60 g of carbohydrates, 0.5 g citric acid, and 0.5 g sodium chloride

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age between 18 and 60 years Voluntary participation with written informed consent Previous experience in resistance training Ability to understand the nature, scope, purpose, and potential consequences of the study Full legal capacity

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Use of substances affecting perception or performance Acute injuries or severe medical conditions, including cardiovascular, pulmonary, or renal dysfunction neurological or psychiatric disorders advanced degenerative musculoskeletal diseases incompletely healed sports injuries Any other health condition that, in the investigators’ judgment, could compromise participant safety or data validity

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Change in strength performance and fatigue following the resistance training session, assessed using standardized strength diagnostics (jump performance, isometric maximal force, and fatigue assessment during leg extension), conducted immediately after completion of the training session.
