Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Male and female participants aged between 18 and 75, evidence of fatty liver disease (with and without type 2 diabetes mellitus)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: -Refusal of consent -Pregnancy -Malignant diseases currently active and in the past 5 years -Any chronic inflammatory bowel disease (e.g., Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis) -Active infectious diseases, especially of the liver

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Determination of changes in lipoprotein fractions and subfractions in serum in MASLD patients (with or without type 2 diabetes), as well as metabolites in urine using NMR spectroscopy. At baseline and 6 months later, various lipid fractions in serum and specific metabolites in urine are quantified using NMR spectroscopy.

MeasureTime frame
MASLD patients are grouped into those with or without type 2 diabetes mellitus for possible early detection of type 2 diabetes based on lipoprotein subgroups in serum and metabolites in urine in MASLD patients.
