Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Reduction of a potentially existing discrepancy between subjective arousal (self-report) and objectively calculated arousal of physiological signals (heart rate, skin conductance, and pupil diameter) from the first to the third training day. This shoud be accomplished using a feedback on objective arousal provided on the second day. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Psychometric questionnaires will be used to examine whether questionnaire scores are associated with, or influence, the discrepancy between subjective arousal ratings and objectively calculated arousal, respectively interoception. Questionnaires - Basic data interview on study-relevant variables such as age/date of birth, nationality, weight, height, type of profession, job, past and current medication and diseases - Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS21) (Nilges & Essau, 2021) - Perth Alexithymia Questionnaire (PAQ) (David Preece, Rodrigo Becerra, Ken Robinson, Justine Dandy, & Alfred Allan, 2018; Kaemmerer et al., 2021) - Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ-30) (Preece DA and Gross JJ. , 2026) - Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) (Michalak et al., 2016) - Interoceptive Accuracy Scale (IAS) (Murphy et al., 2020) - Interoceptive Attention Scale (IATS) (Gabriele, Spooner, Brewer, & Murphy, 2022) - Virtual Reality Sickness Questionnaire (VRSQ) (Kim, Park, Choi, & Choe, 2018) - Vividness of Visual Imagery Questionnaire (VVIQ) (Jungmann, Becker, & Witthöft, 2022) - Body Perception Questionnaire-Short Form (BPQ-SF) (Brand et al., 2024) - Emotion Reactivity Scale (ERS) (Lüönd et al. ,2023) - The Ritvo Autism and Asperger Diagnostic Scale 14-Item-Screening – German version (RAADS-14-Screen-G) (Etlender & Jarvers,2024) - Big Five Inventory–2 Short (BFI-2-S) (Rammstedt et al., 2020) | — |
