Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Regular menstrual cycle (24 to 35 days). • No use of hormonal contraceptives (e.g., birth control pills, hormonal IUDs). • No current or previous history of injuries or diseases of the musculoskeletal system, especially the knee joint. • BMI < 30 kg/m2. • Ability to perform athletic tasks (e.g., hopping on one leg) without discomfort.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Use of hormonal contraceptives (e.g., birth control pills, hormonal IUDs). • Current or previous injuries or diseases of the musculoskeletal system, especially the knee joint. • BMI > 30 kg/m2.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Investigation of the influence of hormonal cycle phases (follicular phase vs. ovulation phase) on knee stability, neuromuscular control, and risk behavior.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Correlation of hormonal parameters (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone) with biomechanical and musculoskeletal data. Creation of a basis for gender-specific prevention approaches for more targeted avoidance of knee injuries.
