Group 1: Retrospective cohort of all patients with musculoskeletal mycotic infections who were treated at the University Hospital of Bonn between 2013 and 2025.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Presence of a microbiologically confirmed fungal infection that was interpreted as clinically significant and treated accordingly.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Insufficient data to assess the outcome and lack of possibilities to contact the patient.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Retrospective, single-center study over a 13-year period. Primary endpoints: - Infection-free survival following surgical treatment of a musculoskeletal mycotic (fungal) infection - Microbiological spectrum of pathogens in such infections, including characterization of the common bacterial co-pathogens involved

MeasureTime frame
- Identification of risk factors that predispose to mycotic infection of the musculoskeletal system
