Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Healthy subjects aged 18 years and older and women of childbearing age using contraception

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnancy/breastfeeding; consumption of tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, products made from these foods, or other products containing solanaceous plants in the 24 hours prior to the start of the study; relevant intolerances to potatoes or milk; use of medication; known medical conditions (especially diabetes); existing drug addiction.

MeasureTime frame
The primary endpoints of this study are the concentrations of kukoamine A and B in the blood within 5 hours after consumption of the study meal and in the urine within 24 hours after the study meal. The aim is to determine both the time course (including total absorption and elimination) and the maximum concentration cmax at time tmax. The concentrations in urine will be correlated with the creatinine content of the respective urine samples in order to take possible dilution effects into account. The half-life t1/2 of the kukoamines will be estimated from the time course.

MeasureTime frame
Secondary objectives are the identification and, if necessary, quantification of metabolites of kukoamine A and B in blood and urine and their increase/decrease over time. In addition, the absorption, metabolism, and elimination behavior of kukoamine A and B will be compared.
