Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: healthy adult volunteers aged between18 and 45 years old without prior history of spinal surgery, spinal dysraphism, neurological disease, or symptoms suggestive of tethered cord syndrome or other spinal disorders.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Contraindications to MRI (e.g., pacemakers, metallic implants, claustrophobia), history of spinal trauma, congenital malformations, or lumbar pathology, any symptoms or clinical findings suggestive of spinal disease, such as local back pain, radicular pain, or abnormal neurological examination, Pregnancy or inability to provide informed consent.

MeasureTime frame
The primary objectives of this study are, first, to quantify the position of the conus medullaris on prone-position MRI in asymptomatic subjects. The measurement is performed statically in a single position (prone) and serves as a surrogate parameter for potentially limited mobility. Second, the position of the filum terminale is assessed under the same conditions.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondarily, the reproducibility of the prone MRI findings is to be evaluated, and potential correlations between the collected parameters and demographic factors (age and sex) are to be investigated.
