Zoonotic infectious diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans, as well as the underlying risk factors and transmission pathways that may lead to spillover events in rural communities in Thailand.

Group 1: Pre-training Arm: Villages in this arm will have their Village Health Volunteers (VHVs) complete the outcome assessment before receiving the Saan Suk VHV training.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Village (cluster): - Allocated to the intervention arm in the parental Saan-Suk trial - Categorized as a village in rural settings - Located in the study area - Has at least 6 VHVs - Feasible to reach by vehicle (a van) - Not less than 2 km distance from other participating villages - Consent to participate from Village Head - Feasible for study implementation – justified by a previous survey conducted in the village Village Health Volunteer: - Registered in the village allocated to the intervention arm in the parental Saan-Suk trial - Registered in the national VHV registry - Active - Serving at least 7 households regularly - Receives regular training from the District Hospital - Lived in the study area for more than 6 months - Has intention to remain in the area for at least 6 more months, covering the trial duration - Signed informed consent to participate in the trial
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Village (cluster): - Allocated to the control arm in the parental Saan-Suk trial - Urban areas - Located outside of the selected provinces and districts - Not feasible for study implementation due to armed conflict, absence of governmental agreement, civil unrest, etc. - Less than 2 km from other participating villages - Village Head does not sign informed consent for participation Village Health Volunteers: - - Registered in the village allocated to the control arm in the parental Saan-Suk trial - Unregistered - Serving less than 7 households - Does not comply with regular training - Recently moved to the area (< 6 months) - Has intention to move out within the next 6 months - Alcohol or drug abuse - Does not sign informed consent form to participate in the trial
