18 Years to 90 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with ECT-indication due to unipolar or bipolar depression with or without psychotic symptoms (F32.3, F32.3, F31.4, F31.5).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with ECT-indication diagnosed with a disorder in the range F20.0-F20.9. Insufficient German language skills.

Subjective anxiety level of the patient, assessed using a visual analogue scale (VAS), measured before the first ECT: before and after the intervention (breathing meditation)
