Group 1: Healthy control group
Intervention: The pupillary response is measured by presenting cognitive and emotional tasks. The cognitive tasks are presented to the participants in a randomized order

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Good german language skills, date of brain injury at least 21 days ago, patients with a UWS, MCS, MCS+, or EMCS diagnosis based on the CRS-R scale and, if applicable, SECONDs scale, informed consent from the patient or authorized representative
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Invasive mechanical ventilation, strong central sedation medication through long-acting sedatives/benzodiazepines/opioids, acute epileptic seizure, eye disease with surgery on both sides, patients in EMCS and with proven aphasia
