Gingival invaginations. These are pockets of the oral mucosa that can be measured using a periodontal probe and that occur in association with tooth extractions and orthodontic space closure as a consequence of insufficient bone regeneration of the alveolar ridge in the extraction area.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - Orthodontic indication for premolar extraction - Written informed consent for treatment and participation in the study provided by the patients and their legal guardians - Patients who are capable of providing the necessary compliance for treatment and who are likely to attend all required study visits
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - The patient and/or legal guardian does not provide consent to participate in the study - The patient is unable to understand the scope, significance, and implications of this clinical study - Inability of the patient to provide the level of cooperation necessary for the therapy - Medication (e.g., bisphosphonates), syndromes, or diseases that substantially affect bone or connective tissue metabolism (e.g., cleidocranial dysplasia) - Poor adherence during treatment
