Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Players eligible for participation were injury-free and registered with their respective teams for the 2022-2023 season.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria included missing more than 10% of intervention sessions, simultaneous participation in other sports activities, absence from any measurement session, or sustaining a severe injury during the study period.

The findings demonstrate that a 3-month application of the Football+ to a twice-weekly schedule results in superior improvements in sprinting, agility, dribbling speed, and vertical jump compared to the 11+ and traditional warm-ups, with large effect sizes. Compared to the control group, the 11+ showed noticeable improvements in vertical jump performance, while a potential reduction in dribbling speed was also observed in this group.

The gains dissipated after a no-intervention period, underscoring that training effects may not persist without continued practice. Further studies are required to evaluate the effects of Football+ on injury risk factors and incidences.
