The study does not investigate a disease but examines normal anatomical conditions in healthy adult individuals. The aim is to determine the course of the radial nerve in the upper arm in order to better assess and prevent the risk of nerve injury during future surgeries or in cases of upper arm trauma.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Healthy adult individuals aged 18 years or older Ability to give informed consent and sign the written consent form Anatomically normal upper arms on both sides (no prior surgery, trauma, or congenital abnormality) Ability to remain in a prone position for approximately 30 minutes during examination Reliable self-reported information regarding body height, weight, and handedness
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Minors or individuals unable to provide informed consent Previous surgery, fracture, or congenital malformation of the upper arm Current or past inflammation, infection, or oncological disease in the examined region Ambidextrous or retrained handedness Physical or cognitive impairments that prevent adequate participation or accurate data collection

| Distance of the radial nerve to defined bony landmarks (acromion, acromioclavicular joint, lateral and medial epicondyle, and olecranon fossa) of the upper arm, measured in millimeters at skin level using high-resolution ultrasound. The objective is to determine the course of the nerve in relation to palpable anatomical landmarks. Time of assessment: Single measurement per arm during the ultrasound examination (duration approximately 30 minutes). In a subgroup, a repeated measurement will be performed after at least 5 days to determine intrarater reliability. Method of data collection: Direct sonographic measurement and manual distance measurement using a flexible tape measure; documentation on standardized case report forms and transfer into a pseudonymized electronic database. | — |
