Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged 65 years and older undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic ERCP under intravenous sedation. Written informed consent obtained prior to the procedure. ASA status II–IV.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with known severe respiratory insufficiency, unstable cardiovascular conditions, uncontrolled infection, anatomical airway anomalies, or refusal to provide consent.

MeasureTime frame
Proportion of patients requiring at least one minor airway intervention during ERCP (chin lift, secretion suctioning, oropharyngeal airway insertion, or conversion from conventional nasal cannula to high-flow nasal cannula). The outcome was assessed prospectively during the procedure and documented on a standardized data collection form by the attending anesthesiology team.

MeasureTime frame
Distribution of airway intervention types (chin lift, secretion suctioning, oropharyngeal airway insertion, conversion CNC?HFNC) and their associations with demographic and clinical variables (age, sex, ASA status). Episodes of oxygen desaturation (SpO2 < 90%) were additionally recorded as a secondary safety parameter.
