Inclusion criteria: Mechanical ventilation and ALI/ARDS
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Age 50) Pregnant patients Patients with massive pulmonary edema Use during electricity-based therapies such as electrosurgery or electrocoagulation Use in the presence of strong magnetic fields or in combination with other bioimpedance methods Contraindications to esophageal catheter: injuries/pathologic conditions of the esophagus
