Exclusion criteria: Pregnant and breastfeeding women are not allowed to participate in the study. Women of childbearing potential must use a reliable method of contraception during the menstrual cycle in which the study examinations take place. If there is a reasonable suspicion of pregnancy, the examinations for the study cannot be performed.

This study investigates whether and to what extent surgical treatment of uterine fibroids affects BCL6 expression, the number of uterine natural killer cells (CD56+), and the infiltration of CD138-positive plasma cells in the endometrium. The aim is to obtain possible indications of an immunological and functional regeneration of the endometrium after fibroid removal. The main endpoints are: 1) What effects does surgical fibroid treatment have on BCL6 expression, the number of uNK cells, and CD138+ plasma cells? 2) Does fibroid removal lead to normalization of immunological and molecular markers in the endometrium? WHAT: Endpoint: quantitative, individual changes in the three cell types in the respective endometrial biopsy samples WHEN: 1st assessment at the time of myomectomy; 2nd assessment three months postoperatively HOW: Histological examination of the endometrial biopsy samples for uterine NK cells, plasma cells, and BCL6-positive cells	—
