Group 1: Patients with retinal detachment and subsequent pars plana vitrectomy for surgical treatment are examined once within a period of 3 to 12 months post-op:

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: -Patients with retinal detachment without cataract disease or after cataract surgery -Age =18 -Capacity to consent given -Signed consent form available
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: -Current lens opacity (cataract) on the eye of the retinal detachment -Keratoconus -Known epiretinal membranes -Diabetic retinopathy -Other vision-reducing diseases other than retinal detachment -Lack of consent or refusal to participate
