Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Tetraplegic patients with respiratory impairment during the study period from July 10, 2017, to February 28, 2025, were placed in the prone position. The following criteria must be met: - Diagnosis of tetraplegia - Respiratory problems - Age >18 years - Intensive care unit (ICU)/IMC stay

MeasureTime frame
Investigation of the effects of prone positioning in spontaneously breathing tetraplegics. Investigation of the effects on oxygenation (oxygen saturation, oxygen partial pressure), secretion mobilization, and potential unwished effects.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Length of intensive care and hospital stay Effects of the prone position on other vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate) and other blood gas parameters (pH, carbon dioxide partial pressure). Recording the rate of necessary intubations.
