Interventions

Group 1: The study is to be conducted on tissue samples from a maximum of 100 corpses, which are collected as part of the postmortem routine diagnostics at the Institute of Legal and Traffic Medicine

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - An autopsy request has been issued by the competent authority. - Routine postmortem imaging is indicated and/or premortem images are available. - Bone fractures are present that can be attributed to a dated traumatic event.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - No bone fractures are present. - The timing of the trauma-inducing event is uncertain. - No premortem images are available, and postmortem imaging is not indicated according to the indication catalogue of the Working Group on Forensic Imaging of the German Society of Legal Medicine. - Advanced postmortem changes are present.

MeasureTime frame
Goal of this study: High-resolution visualization of bone fractures and categorization of fracture morphology depending on the stage of healing.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Determination of an optimal examination protocol across different imaging modalities.
