Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patient with sports-related muscle injury seeking medical assistance. Age between 18 and 40 years (tissue changes such as dehydration may influence L-BIA). Muscle injuries of the lower extremities (most common locations, easier to compare with the contralateral leg, standardized measurement procedure available).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Additional orthopedic injuries in the affected leg. Metabolic and/or systemic diseases that influence fluid balance. Patients who are unable to undergo L-BIA measurement within 24 hours after US-MSK diagnosis.
