Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Diagnosis of PTSD following interpersonal violence according to DSM-5 (American Psychiatric Association, 2013) - sufficient German language skills - written informed consent to participate in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - ongoing psychotherapeutic treatment - substance abuse or dependence within the past three months - suicide attempts, acute suicidality, or severe self-harm within the past 12 months - more than two inpatient psychiatric treatments within the past 24 months - lifetime diagnosis of schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or bipolar disorder - organic mental disorder - severe physical or mental impairments requiring treatment in a different setting, e.g. body mass index (BMI) < 17.5

Diagnostic Interview: - Clinician-Administered PTSD Scale for DSM-5 (CAPS-5; Weathers et al., 2017) to assess PTSD symptomatology during the past four weeks, including the Complex PTSD Item Set Additional to the CAPS (COPISAC; Lechner-Meichsner & Steil, 2021) to determine the diagnosis and symptom severity of Complex PTSD (CPTSD) ? Assessments will be conducted at pre-treatment and post-treatment (following completion of the intervention and a four-week practice phase)

Questionnaire-Based Measures: - Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5; Blevins, Weathers, Davis, Witte, & Domino, 2015) to assess PTSD symptoms during the past four weeks/past week - Extended version of the PCL-5 including items assessing trauma-related guilt and shame, anger, fear, and disgust (Arntz, Tiesema, & Kindt, 2007) - Posttraumatic Cognitions Inventory (PTCI; Foa, Ehlers, Clark, Tolin, & Orsillo, 1999) to assess trauma-related cognitions - Two single-item measures assessing participants' emotional and rational conviction regarding the validity of their negative self-concept - Self-Compassion Scale (SCS; Neff, 2003) to assess self-compassion ? Assessments will be conducted at pre-treatment, at two intermediate time points following intervention sessions II and III, at post-treatment, and at follow-up (12 weeks after the intervention) - Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9; Kroenke & Spitzer, 2002) to assess depressive symptoms ? Assessments will be conducted at pre-treatment, post-treatment, and follow-up (12 weeks after the intervention)
