Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Individuals aged 40-49 at the planned start of their studies (Main study 45-49 years, explorative cohort 40,41). - Contactable via email address (with a user account at BARMER).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Established contact restriction - Previous colonoscopy (EBM 13421, OPS 1-650) - Previous invitation through the program (applies to exploratory cohort aged 40–41) - Stool test use in the past 12 months (EBM 32457) - Previous diagnosis of: Crohn's disease (ICD-10: K50) Ulcerative colitis (ICD-10: K51) Colorectal Cancer (ICD-10: C18–C21)

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Proportion of insured persons aged 45-49 with polypectomy or colorectal cancer diagnosis within 12 months of receiving the initial invitation.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
• Proportion of insured persons aged 45-49 who used a FIT within 12 months of the initial invitation. • Rate of diagnostic colonoscopy (EBM 13421, OPS1-650) within 12 months of invitation. • Proportion of insured persons with a positive FIT within 8 weeks of invitation (aggregated data). • Proportion of insured persons who underwent polypectomy within 12 months of receiving the initial invitation. • Proportion of insured persons diagnosed with colorectal cancer within 12 months of receiving the initial invitation.
