Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for practitioners: • Medical license • Primary field of activity in general practice or psychiatric care • Self-reported contact with people diagnosed with an ICD-10 F1x diagnosis within the last 3 months (for qualitative study components) • Sufficient knowledge of German Inclusion criteria for residents • Residence within the Augsburg Oberhausen district (postal codes 86154 and 86156) or Kempten and surrounding area (postal codes 874xx) • No self-reported addiction (except tobacco addiction) • Sufficient knowledge of German Inclusion criteria for affected persons • Connection to the Augsburg or Kempten district hospital or to the substitution outpatient clinic of the Clinic for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, and Psychosomatics or to a counseling center of Drogenhilfe Schwaben or Caritas in Augsburg or Kempten • Diagnosis from the ICD-10 spectrum of F1x diagnoses • Sufficient knowledge of German Inclusion criteria for public order services • Employment with the municipal public order service in Augsburg or the Kempten urban area • Primary area of activity in the urban area of Augsburg or Kempten • Sufficient knowledge of German Inclusion criteria for addiction counseling centers • Employment with Drogenhilfe Schwaben in Augsburg or Caritas in Augsburg or Kempten • Primary area of activity in the city of Augsburg or Kempten • Sufficient knowledge of German Inclusion criteria for the anonymous online survey • Access to a functioning internet connection

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria for practitioners: • No medical license • Primary field of activity outside of general practice or psychiatric care • Insufficient knowledge of German Exclusion criteria for residents: • Residence outside the Augsburg Oberhausen or Kempten district and surrounding area • Self-reported addiction, except for tobacco addiction • Insufficient knowledge of German Exclusion criteria for affected persons • No connection to the Augsburg or Kempten district hospital, the substitution outpatient clinic of the Clinic for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, and Psychosomatics, or a counseling center of Drogenhilfe Schwaben or Caritas • Acute internal medical condition • Acute suicidal tendencies • Involuntary placement in a psychiatric clinic or residential facility • Insufficient knowledge of German Exclusion criteria for public order services • Employment with a municipal public order service outside Augsburg or Kempten • Primary area of activity outside the city of Augsburg • Insufficient knowledge of German Exclusion criteria for addiction counseling centers • No employment with Drogenhilfe Schwaben or Caritas in Augsburg or Kempten • Primary area of activity outside the city of Augsburg or Kempten • Insufficient knowledge of German Exclusion criteria in the anonymous online survey • Residence outside the city limits of Augsburg • Unreliable information according to self-assessment on the self-rating scale at the end of the questionnaire (question: “Did you fill out this questionnaire reliably?” Answer: “No”)
