Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: for RCT: dental surgery scheduled in the Witten/Herdecke dental university clinic (at least 4 weeks ahead), willingness to participate in the study and to use the app, availability of an own smartphone, willingness to participate in all three data collection times and to fill in the required questionnaires, capability to give informed consent, fluent written and spoken German; additionally for the interviews: part of the intervention group in the RCT, intervention has ended, T0 and T1 questionnaires are filled in, agreement given in T1 to be contacted for making an appointment for the interview, agreement given for the participation in an interview
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: for RCT: acute psychological problems that could affect the participation or a participant's safety; acute cognitive impairment, meditation and/or relaxation practice in the past 8 weeks, insufficient German skills, no mobile phone and/or phone without access to AppStore or GooglePlay, requiring emergency dental procedure, active substance and/or alcohol dependence for interviews: randomised to control group during RCT, not responding to T0 and/or T1 questionnaire
