Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary clinically relevant parameter of the study is the experience of loneliness among children, adolescents, and seniors, measured using the 6-item short version of the De Jong Gierveld Loneliness Scale (De Jong Gierveld & Van Tilburg, 2006). The intervention will be compared with baseline data in terms of change over 6 months.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The secondary outcomes include the mental well-being and health-related quality of life of the participants. The mental well-being of seniors and young adults is assessed using the SDQ 18+, while the SDQ 11-17 is used for self-assessment for adolescents (Goodman, 1997). The health-related quality of life of seniors and older adolescents aged 18 and over is assessed using the SF-12 (Morfeld, Kirchberger, & Bullinger, 2011) and supplemented by the EQ-5D-5L (EuroQol Research Foundation, 2019). For the KJ, the KIDSCREEN-27 is used to measure quality of life (Ravens-Sieberer et al., 2005; The KIDSCREEN Group Europe, 2006) and, in addition, the youth version of the EQ-5D-Y-5L (EuroQol Research Foundation, 2024). The effectiveness of the intervention is assessed by comparing the data after 6 months (post-intervention) with the data at baseline (pre-intervention). In addition, semi-structured interviews are conducted with the participants after the intervention in order to specifically record aspects such as expectations, fulfillment of expectations, positive changes, and negative changes.
