Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Parents with a child who was diagnosed with a condition before birth and has increased care needs after birth, and whose discharge after birth was no more than one year ago (from the date of recruitment) OR • Parents whose prenatally diagnosed child has died and was not discharged home after birth, and the death of the prenatally diagnosed child occurred no more than one year ago (from the date of recruitment) • Willingness to participate in an interview after reading the participant information, • Written informed consent to participate in the study, • Sufficient knowledge of the German language to participate in the interview.

Exclusion criteria: • Failure to meet the above criteria • Refusal to participate in the study

The needs, requirements and burdens of parents with a child diagnosed with a serious prenatal condition are assessed after discharge following the birth by means of narrative interviews.
