Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: -Patients of the obesity centre of the Westküstenklinikum Heide -Patients agreement to take part in the study -BMI 40 to 59.9 kg/m² -Bariatric surgery according to the German guidelines already scheduled
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: -Disagreement to taking part in the study -known atherosclerosis (according to Fontaine) -thrombembolic events in the past

| The main objective of the study is the sonographic assessment of venous congestion syndrome of the legs in bariatric patients; for this purpose, a sonography of the lower extremity is performed immediately pre-bariatric (directly before the planned bariatric surgery) and the following ultrasound criteria are recorded using the B-mode technique or duplex sonography at defined measuring points: - VFC on both sides in supine position: Diameter and flow - AFC flow - VSM on both sides in supine position, 15 cm distal to the crosses: Diameter, flow reversal (Valsalva), alternatively flow reversal only in the VFC - Thickness of cutis and subcutis of lower leg medially on both sides 10 cm above the tip of the inner ankle - Visualization and thickness of lymphatic gaps Lower leg medially on both sides 10 cm above the tip of the medial malleolus - Elastography US on both sides, measuring point as above The sonographic examination is standardized using the GE LoGiQ S7 Expert and a 9.0 MHz transducer. | — |
