Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - left-hemispheric cortical or subcortical ischemic or hemorrhagic event - stroke occurred at least 6 months prior to study enrolment - German as first native language - right-handedness, as confirmed by the Oldfield Handedness Inventory - diagnosis of aphasia with at least basic auditory verbal comprehension skills, as confirmed by the Aachen Aphasia Test
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - other severe neurological disorders - significant uncorrectable visual or hearing disability - severe nonverbal cognitive deficits, as revealed by the Corsi Block-Tapping Task - simultaneous speech-language therapy or psychotherapy during the 3-week intervention phase
