This study does not focus on specific illnesses or conditions. It is a procedural investigation of nursing workflows on hospital wards, aimed at determining how to improve patients’ sleep hygiene and increase feelings of security through the implementation of technology.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Adult patients admitted to the hospital who are capable of giving informed consent
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients requiring continuous monitoring, Tattoos in the chest area, Allergies to metals, plastic, silicone, or adhesive bandage materials, Excessive patient movement Methaemoglobin in the blood, Intravascular dyes, Regular proximity to devices emitting high levels of harmful interference (including portable and mobile RF communication devices such as CT, MRI, diathermy, RFID, and electronic article surveillance systems) Significant deformities, swelling, irritation, wounds, degenerative changes, or edema in the chest area
