Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary endpoint of the study was the comparison of the duration of drainage between two different types of drainage systems in patients undergoing mastectomy. Drainage duration was defined as the time interval between placement and removal of the respective drain. Exact timestamps for drain insertion and removal were retrospectively obtained from the SAP system and used to calculate drainage duration.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary endpoints included the comparison of postoperative pain levels at 24 hours, 48 hours, and at the time of drain removal, as assessed using a patient questionnaire. Furthermore, total drainage volume in milliliters, the number of required postoperative punctures, and the occurrence of postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Data on drainage volume, postoperative punctures, and complications were retrospectively obtained from the SAP system.
