Group 1: Prospective observational study:
Patients of two different psychiatric hospitals will be investigated once regarding different measures of mental health and different measures of compassion.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: good understanding of the German language sufficient vision and hearing, with or without correction capacity and willingness to provide informed consent
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: patients treated involuntarily at the hospital at the time of recruitment existing diagnosis of a known intellectual disability or severe cognitive impairment (e.g., amnestic syndrome) acute risk of harm to self or others as specified by the Brandenburg Mental Health Law (BbgPsychKG) severe acute internal medical condition (e.g., pneumonia, delirium)
